A storm casualty...
The storms Wednesday night brought down one of the branches of our tree. At first we thought lightning struck it, but looking at it in the daylight we're guessing it was only a bad spot in the branch and the wind gusts were just too much for it. (There were reports of 90 mph gusts in Dallas.)

By the way, the car's fine. It has a blown engine anyway, it's been sitting dead for several months... don't ask me why we still have it other than Hubby having grand ideas of making it into a hot rod (yes, you heard me right, he wants to turn his old 4-door OLDSMOBILE into a hot rod... he's been watching the show Overhaulin' too much.)
Also in the bottom pic it's hard to see but there's 3 cats sitting on the car... they all think it's pretty cool that they can play in the tree without all the work of climbing...
Anyway, more firewood for next winter.

Hello again, my friend in FW said it was kinda scary at her house during the storm.
Thats pretty neat the cats have an easy entry to the tree now, that is if you dont remove the limb. In last years Missouri tornado, my brother in law lost his house, his chicken houses, windows blown out of his Oldsmobile and after the storm, the surviving chickens , hens some still sat on their nests after the storm, moved to the car and made a roosting place in the seats, under the car, in the glove apartment that had been blown open, here's a thought, start raising chickens in your hubby's car, the neighbors might complain when the old rooster starts crowing at 4:00AM.
Glad you both survived.
That's funny, but I'm pretty sure if we tried to raise chickens the cats would be having chicken dinner every night.
