Homework painting...

Yes, you even have homework for painting classes. Our project was to paint a "Walmart Baroque"... baroque is a style that features a high contrast in lighting (like a spotlight being shined on a spot in a dark room), and we were supposed to use objects that could be purchased at Walmart. Alright, I cheated a little since Lennox stemware aren't generally in the glassware aisle at Walmart... but the instructor didn't really care.

By the way, this painting isn't finished yet, it's still a work in progress. I still need to paint in the label on the bottle, and make other adjustments to it. But, we had to take our homework to class today for a critique... and our instructor stole my painting to display it on a wall in our building.

I'm calling the painting "Spiked Pears". And FYI that's cream sherry, not wine. And I kept having to buy new bottles of it to paint, as I kept running out of the sherry. HA HA

In the next photo, you can't see the variation in colors at the top of the bottle... crappy cellphone camera made it look all white, but it's not really like that. Grrrr

Oh, and this is the first time that I've ever attempted to paint glass and reflections.

One of these days I'll finish it and somehow have it photographed with a decent camera. Until then, this will have to do!

Well must say, I'm impressed with your new project. Looks very interesting and probably as you say better with a good camera instead of celly-phone.

Gonna be on the road for a few days, heading to Mobile Al and Florida for a few days. Meeting a WebMd BC friend to friend Sunday in Daphne Al for brunch and about 50 other guests, open house for a couple I know and as Dawn says a 'last hurrah' for her hubby as he undergoes cancer surgery next Thursday, she asked me to come down and hold her hand during his surgery, no family--dont I get all the good assignments?? But she's a nice lady, they're in middle 50's and I feel bad for both of them.

You're doing good girl, hang in there and waiting for the grants and scholarships to start coming in.

Dont know what this cloning business is all about you and H C are discussing.

Later. J.D.

Well hopefully it's NOT his last hurrah. I'm sure your friend will be comforted with you there. Take care of yourself Jaydee, driving across the country again. But I spent 3 years living in Florida, it was nice, you should like it.

On the Oaklawn longshot totals list, Carol had you listed TWICE, with like $6 and again with like $11... so I asked her if you'd been cloned. She fixed it though, put you once with $17.

Be careful and take care Jaydee~

Thanks for the explanation, H C and I talked last night and she said you all had squared everything, I told H C only you could have been observant enough to catch that,, I didnt. Blame it on all these years......lol..........

You better hope Carol is late posting the longshot results tomorrow. You might have more than 24 hrs. on top. We need $312 to break even on the year. OH, and BTW, your welcome for me not posting that shot in the first last Saturday as my longshot. Had it played in a $10 double (with witnesses) with the Capt. in the second. Was gonna like $650 for a $2. Ticket turned out to be apron fodder. But we had a little excitement hapnin. hehe

OH, I see Jack, you're sandbagging now?

But then you're also cheating... you're actually reading the charts or Form, hahaha.

No really, you notice I had to make a "safe" play today just to get my nose in front. I hated to stoop so low as to pick a 9-2 horse, and Asmussen at that, but I figured he'd at least get 3rd, lol.

I'll just enjoy it while I can, if only for a day... ;-D

And $312? Ha, we'll see.
