School junk...

Well, for the first summer courses I got an "A" in my History class and a "B" in my Psychology class. I've noticed that the 2 "online" courses I've taken since starting school I made Bs in both, but all the other traditional "lecture" classes I've made all As... I attribute this to the fact that in the lecture classes when test time rolls around the instructors give you a pretty good idea about what's going to be asked on the test. In the online classes you sorta had to guess what material you're going to be tested on. Considering for the Psych class I had a huge 500-page textbook, I should be lucky I came out with grades in the 80s!

The history class I enjoyed... the instructor was a 20-something current grad student at TCU that has taught at my school the last couple years in between his own classes. He was a good lecturer, cool to listen to. Only thing that bothered me in that class was when I realized I was the oldest person in the room of 45 (including the instructor), and I swear some of the other students were fresh out of the high school pep rally. They really got annoying at times.

Anyway, boring stuff I know. But I haven't had much else to say since I'm trying not to complain about our A/C compressor going out over the this week, leading to a few sweltering days. I made the joke that we need a little rain to cool things down a bit, but nobody thought that was funny...

Hey there, congrats on the grades, many folks would die for a 'B' but I know you're disappointed. Online courses I can imagine can be very different than lectured ones. Hang in there 'Ole Woman',,,,,,,,being the oldest sometimes can be better you can teach the younger ones a few things.

Yeah, you'd better stop it about the need for rain to cool things down, you all should be in the 40's..............sorry about the A/C, is it working yet?

Keep in touch, enjoy reading whats going on in Texas, my friend Karen is having real challenges now, will keep you advised.

I'm sorry to hear that, keep us informed about Karen. She was a sweet lady, I wish her the best.

Nope still working on A/C. We even called OlMarv last night to ask his help on some puzzling things, gotta buy another fan motor and capacitor today and see if that works.

well darn, if I was in town today, I could come by, does the fan even try to run, I'm assuming you mean the fan on the compressor outside the house, is it central air?
