Rain rain go away...
We got 4.5" of rain overnight. This pic I took at 2:30am, to show how the "Pearl River runneth". (Quality sucks I know, I doctored the lighting as best I could in Photoshop... but you get the idea) Our Pearl Street normally turns into a river whenever it rains, but last night it was the highest I've ever seen, from midway up our neighbor's driveway across the roadway to halfway up into our yard, nothing but a deep swift river, strong enough to sweep away a neighbor's basketball goal.

Everyone's toilets on our block were backing up flooding their houses, but it wasn't as bad for us. Otherwise, just a pain having so much rain lately.
Up north of us, they had 8 inches, they were rescuing folks off rooftops and closing highway I-35. So it could have been worse here.

I've beem following the flooding around Gainesville, it is horrible. Sounds as if you had your share. Did hubby's Oldsmobile get floded?? I just hate it when the bathrooms back-up. Hoping for better conditions today. I would ask if you went to work, but remembered you had recently retired. Your planning was great. Have a super week now........jaydee
Yep, on the news when they mention Trophy Club area flooding too, they're a stone's throw from us. But Gainesville & Sherman got the worst of it.
Nope, the Olds was up in the driveway... we got a letter from the city that they were supposed to be repaving the neighborhood streets last week and all cars on the curb would be towed so we moved it... but have they started yet? noooooooo But I guess it was good timing, the Olds surely would have been washed away (not that it would have been a bad thing! haha)
Hope you're doing well Jaydee
Hey....., Im still waiting for overhauling to come get it and turn it into a cool hotrod!!!!
Hubby.
hey good luck with that theory, gonna put a 'hemi' in it???????????these girls sometimes dont have any idea what our plans are, keep them guessing is best....jaydee
He says Cadillac makes a high performance v8 that would fit right in it...
I say he's dreaming...
We had been wondering if you'd been affected by the flooding. Glad it's no worse than it is. Your weather systems usually move right up I-30 to us, but we're still very short of rain.
What about your Olds? Is it old? GR has a 1971 Buick Skylark GS convertible, which he bought new. It runs and is all original, but has never been restored or anything. It looks good, he has always babied it. He's saving it for his son.
Y'all stay dry!
Old's only a 1990... one owner before us and he was a mechanic, but hubby used it as a sales car and therefore ran it into the ground. It looks like it needs to be buried!
Yeah I noticed our storms usually go up and visit you all there in Arky, I'm surprised you're still short of rain.
