Some good news...
I was sent an email by the DFW Airport letting me know that I won a prize in the art contest I entered. So now at least I know I won... well, SOMETHING. I don't know if it was 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, (or "honorable mention" lol)... I've been to the airport 3 times this week trying to find out, but they're still in the process of hanging all the artwork for the exhibit. I talked to one of the contest coordinators, who told me why things were going so slow-
First, one of the judges was Mr. Raymond D. Nasher, a nationally recognized art patron who owned a prestigious gallery in Dallas... and who passed away on Friday March 16.

Then, the other two judges dropped out and so two others from those same organizations were judges (one of the organizations is the Fort Worth Public Arts Council, I don't recall who the other is). So, the actual judging didn't occur until Monday of this week, which threw everything behind. I was there today, and they were still scrambling to hang all the artworks.
I guess I'll find out Saturday night who won what. I'm just happy I won something.

Hello again, I read the Dallas F W news everyday and I had read that Mr Nasher had died. Must have been a real contributor for his city. Best of everything on your award now, please post and let us know how its going.
Will serve up that 'bread pudding' now on Friday at Oaklawn.. I received an email from Shar in St Louis wanting to know if I was going to be there Sat and I told her I was, and was coming Friday a day earlier to see you and others. Safe travels now. jaydee
